Review – Royal Canin Educ Training Treats

When we bought Alfie, he was eating Royal Canin food. Part of the puppy pack was a Royal Canin puppy pack which had information about what ages their food went up to, the benefits of it etc. They also included two packets of Royal Canin Educ Training Treats. This was great as we were never really sure about which treats were best.

Here is the packet and what the treats look like

They are made for puppys 2 months or older and adult dogs. It is also low in calories and claims to have less than 3.
It also says it ‘Contains reinforced levels of vitamins E and C, nutrients which help support cellular function.’
So it’s all healthy for your dog which is what I was looking for as I know Beagles are often prone to putting on weight.

This is what the treats look like. You can see that they are a oval shape which they say makes it easier to swallow

Alfie loves the treats. In-fact I think they are one of the main reasons he has been so easy to train; because he loves his reward!

They aren't huge either, smaller than a 20p British coin even!

They don’t cause smelly breath so you don’t have to go around with a peg on your nose! They also don’t need much chewing so they are easy to eat for a teething puppy. We have started needing to add more water to Alfie’s food as he would stop eating and yelp in pain as it was causing him pain to eat. So if these hurt we would know!

We enjoyed using them so much, we placed an order for more!

So lets get on to pros and cons.
Pros:

  • Dogs seem to love them
  • Good size
  • Low in calories
  • Great for training
  • Doesn’t hurt teething pups!

Cons:

  • The amount of treats you get in the huge packets is ridiculous. Right at the bottom there are about 15-20 treats which forces you to order more

However I would still rate it:5 stars

5 stars! As I said before I think these were one of the main reasons why training has been so easy so I definitely recommend them!

  1. I’ve used these treats. My dogs eat anything, so they’re not a great review panel, and I actually break them in half because I’m a stingy dog trainer…
